Paris, 10 September, 2024 – Naaia, an AI compliance and risk management solution, is the first French company to obtain ISO 42001, Artificial Intelligence Management System certification and among the first in Europe and the World. This certification, issued by AFNOR Certification, attests that Naaia is deploying an ethical and responsible AI system.
Naaia, Europe’s first AIMS ® (Artificial Intelligence Management System) with a multi-regulation, multi-framework approach, provides an operational response to organizations’ compliance needs with an AI risk management tool for the deployment of responsible AI.
Achieving ISO 42001 certification, the only existing international consensus standard on AI, underlines Naaia’s commitment to the responsible and ethical management of artificial intelligence. This achievement comes just a few weeks after obtaining ISO 27001 certification, the international standard for information systems security management.
Nathalie Beslay, co-founder and CEO of Naaia, said: ‘This certification is a major milestone for Naaia and a strong symbol of our ongoing commitment to responsible AI. Being the first French company to obtain ISO 42001 certification reflects our determination to offer our customers a reliable and robust solution. Setting an example means giving our customers a sense of direction, and moving from promises to proof of our role as a partner in the compliance process.’
ISO 42001 certification, designed for designers, developers and users of artificial intelligence, attests to ethical and efficient practices and risk management throughout the lifecycle of AI systems, with the aim of minimizing any harmful repercussions on individuals and society.
Julien Nizri, Managing Director of AFNOR Certification, added: ‘We are particularly proud to award this first ISO 42001 certificate in France. Our congratulations go to the Naaia teams, who have shown great courage in deciding to lead the way in a world turned upside down by AI. To master these rapidly evolving technologies over the long term, we encourage fast-growing companies to adopt a framework such as ISO 42001 to structure themselves and reassure their stakeholders.’
